Green Technology in our Homes

Priory Homes are developing some of the first private housing developments in the UK to include the latest in energy-efficient Heat Pump technology.
This technology generates energy from renewable sources to provide the heating and air conditioning and cooling systems for our developments.
By generating heat from renewable sources homeowners are paid for the heat they use whilst making a difference to the environment! Homeowners can slash the cost of their current energy bills!
Our executive homes are built to Code 4 for sustainable homes by including certain eco-upgrades to the properties which will enhance each of them.

Under the current renewable energy legislation, starting from April 2011, Heat Pump Technology entitles every customer to receive a cash incentive where the Government would pay their energy bills for the first five years. The customer will receive an annual payment that will pay the heating and hot water bill plus create a net income of approximately half the bill amount each year.

  • Running costs are approximately halved.
  • CO2 production is reduced by 40%.
  • There are no local CO2 emissions.
Through the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), the aim is to get 12% of the UK's generate from renewable sources by 2020 which is quite a big step forward!
By generating heat from renewable sources homeowners are paid for the heat they use whilst making a difference to the environment!
For virtually every single property in the UK, heat is generated at source - i.e. in the property itself, using a gas or oil boiler for example. This results in often quite hefty energy bills for your gas, oil or electricity if you use electric heaters. By installing renewable heat equipment, homeowners will get paid for the heat they generate.
They may still have other costs (e.g. electricity to power a heat pump or wood chip/pellets for a biomass boiler) but the RHI has been structured so that these will either be far less than or roughly the same as the payments received. By having a renewable heat system that does not use either oil or gas, homeowners won't be affected by such changes.
Whilst not being totally immune - as all the systems rely on electricity or some other fuel (e.g. wood) to run - but the affect should be greatly diminished.
Homeowners can feel they are making a difference to the environment 99% of all the heat currently generated comes from oil, gas fuel or electricity power stations. This means that just a woeful 1% comes from renewable sources.
